Abstract

The chapter deals with existing and emerging soultions to the sustainability problems of fossil fuel use. It examines ways of reducing or 'sequestering' carbon emissions from fossil fuel combustion; and looks at carbon-free fuels and processes that enable the combution process and its attendant problems to be avoided entirely.
