Abstract
In the context of the post-2003 commodity price boom, this UNIDO Report focuses on the potential contribution which rising prices can make to the promotion of industrialisation. Utilising Hirschman's threefold classification of fiscal, consumption and production linkages, it analyses the nature, determinants and progress of industrial development in Sub-Sahara Africa and Central Asia and identifies policies which might enhance these linkages in the future.
