Abstract

In this paper we describe further development of a type of microwave resonator probe known as a hairpin probe. The first section introduces the probe and explains how it can be used to measure electron density in plasmas by measuring plasma frequency via a change of microwave resonance of the probe. Later sections describe a new technique for easier and more accurate measurement of the resonance peak and, indirectly, electron density.
