Abstract
James Harvey Callander was a cactus and succulent nurseryman from the early part of the twentieth century, first in Springfield, Ohio, and then in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. Little is known about the life and times of this early cactus enthusiast, but a short obituary was published in 1933. Despite the dearth of information about Callander the man, he has left behind a few publications, at least one of which is significant because of its great rarity.
