Abstract
The network field shows signs of theoretical development. A number of studies have focused upon integrative network-management theory. The substantive nature of these studies reveals continuing interest in a robust synthesis across the domain. We explain what we see as some residual shortcomings in these approaches and offer an alternative theoretical lens. We show the results of an analysis of some empirical data using this perspective which seems to provide a means to link dynamically structures with managers' actions.
