Abstract
Examines the international dissimenation of Robert Owen's social reform agenda and his numerous international contacts promoting reform of factory conditions, poor relief, popular education, communitariansim, co-operation etc. Owen's international commections show a network embracing major Enlightenment figures, intellectuals, scientists and politicians of his generation. It shows the power of his propaganda and the appeal of an essentially Utopian message.
