Discusses developments on juries including: (1) the House of Lords ruling in R. v Mirza (Shabbir Ali) on whether the requirement that jury deliberations should remain secret was consistent with the right to fair trial; and (2) the Home Office report Jurors' Perceptions, Understanding, Confidence and Satisfaction in the Jury System: A Study in Six Courts, noting the findings on public confidence in the jury system.
