Abstract
Two contemporary novelists, Sembene Ousmane and Guy des Cars, though very different, both treated the same topic: that of intercultural couples faced with challenges arising from life in colonial Africa (Senegal and Central Africa),dealing with religious issues and interaction with in-laws and local traditions. This comparative study highlights similarities and differences between the two novels.
