Abstract

A reflection on the development of African literature in European languages, the reasons behind the writers'choice of language and the way they all tried to translate their language and culture in the process. This is based on a study of Achebe, Senghor, Soyinka, Ulasi, Dadié, Laye and Ouologuem.
